A bright, tight copy in exceptional condition. Very light wear at head, heel and bottom edge. No markings. "WILLIAM SAMUEL LILLY (1840-1919), English man of letters...Lilly was a convert to Roman Catholicism, and from 1874 was secretary to the Catholic Union of Great Britain. His works include Ancient Religion and Modern Thought (1884); The Claims of Christianity (1894); Four English Humorists of the Nineteenth Century (1895), and Studies in Religion and Literature (1904)." EB, 11th ed.

Very good hardcover with acceptable dust jacket. Previous owner's sticker on front endpaper. Binding is tight and sturdy; boards and text also very good. DJ has tears and chips missing - most notable the bottom three inches of spine are missing. Front cover is mostly intact and the DJ is now protected in Mylar wraps.
